NeuroCats Program

Neurocats offers Individualized supports through one-on-one and small group coaching. Students can choose to meet for one-on-one coaching weekly, bi-monthly, or monthly depending on their support needs. Group coaching is offered two times per week. Coaching topics address the seven domains of student success at TXST:

• Academic Pathways
• Career Related Engagement
• Community Engagement
• Individual Connections
• Health & Well-Being
• Positive Interdependence
• Basic Needs

Building a community is an essential part of NeuroCats. Multiple social events are scheduled each week to promote community engagement. Students participate in the brainstorming, planning, and facilitation of events.

Students are invited to engage at the level that feels most comfortable for them whether that means leading a discussion, contributing occasionally, or simply observing from the doorway.

Examples of social events include:

• Monthly UNO Tournament
• Board Games
• Coloring and Cat Videos
• Art Space
• Movies
• Share Your Special Interest

Monthly workshops are facilitated by campus and community experts based on the topics suggested by students. All workshops are open to the campus community.

Example topics include:

• Career Preparation
• Study strategies and skills
• Time management

Customized presentations on supporting neurodivergent students are available upon request, with content adapted to best serve the audience's interest and objectives.

Family support group is hosted online and monthly. It serves as an opportunity for you to ask questions, build community, and provide feedback on the autism support program. It is hosted monthly
