Testing, Evaluation, and Measurement Center

The Testing, Evaluation, and Measurement Center (TEMC) has two offices which administer accommodated exams for students registered with Disability Services; the Academic Testing for Students with Disabilities (ATSD) Center and Testing Center, Round Rock (TCRR).

Alternative Options

In some cases, TEMC's proctoring services may not meet the needs for the exam or quiz which needs to be accommodated. If this occurs, Disability Services recommends to explore the following options.

Assistance in Applying Accommodations to Online Exams & Quizzes

Students sit at a table with laptops out in front of them. The students are looking towards a screen projection at the front of the classroom.

The Online and Extended Programs (OXP) Instructional Design Services team is available for one-on-one consultations to support online and hybrid faculty in designing their courses. Instructional Design Consultations are one-on-one, topic-focused sessions designed to support online and hybrid faculty with specific questions or challenges related to course design, including accessibility.

Online Proctoring adds a layer of security to distance and hybrid courses while allowing students to take tests outside a classroom or testing space. If an instructor has a student with an accommodation, faculty may discuss options for support with the vendor liaison.

Utilizing Faculty Office Hours or Departmental Resources

Instructors may provide accommodations by proctoring the exam or quiz during office hours or at a mutually agreed-upon time and date with the student. This approach is often used for non-traditional exams and quizzes, such as lab work involving chemicals or substances that require containment within a laboratory setting. If necessary, instructors may assign another qualified individual within their department to proctor the exam or quiz.
